Although young people aged 16-19 represent approximately 10% of all car drivers on our road, nearly 30% of them will be involved in a road collision, and 75% of those involved in a crash will die due to their injuries. The KCC Young Drivers Course is therefore designed to educate young people about the responsibilities they have when they gain their license, and also the risks involved in driving a car or motorbike.

The course takes place over four sessions and our first session saw students looking at the impact of reckless driving, peer pressure and crash prevention.

“The session really got me to appreciate the impact a crash can have on not just the people involved, but also their families.” – Ryan Sinacola
